Google Is The Best Search Engine?

When it comes to choosing a search engine, we don’t even think. We just “Google it.”

Google is the most popular search engine & for some legitimate reason.

What makes Google so popular?

The success of Google has led to it being the most-used search engine in the U.S. market, managing over 3 billion pages a day.

Google is the largest website (traffic-wise) on the Internet. What is it that Google does better than say Yahoo or Bing?

It is the comfort factor? Is it because of the relevant results? The list can go on and on of possible reasons as to why people choose to use Google over other search engines on the Internet.

Let’s dive in details:

User-Friendly-

What Google does best is understanding the intent of the user.

It is often said that the success it has achieved over the years came from its desire to provide higher quality results very easily to the users.

The constant updates on Google gives it an edge to give the most accurate & efficient result each time.

Google is simple & better to understand!

High Trust

Providing better, more relevant results have allowed Google to be considered a trustworthy resource for finding information on the web.

Google’s trust has continuously increased over the years due to:

Constantly updating their search algorithms

Focusing on the user, their intent, and their satisfaction

It made the world so small, the way no one could ever imagine. Its choice among the world is so heightened that many experts view that the next ten years Google not to worry about its acme position.

SEO friendly

SEO optimize Google search engine as per rules, register their sitemaps and knock Google’s service.

Google even created the best video search engine through YouTube, a major, major medium where users can search for videos.

As technology such as WiFi, cameras, mobile phones continue to advance, the ability to upload, download & watching videos will increase day by day. As this trend grows, having a search engine that can accurately find and produce what users are searching for amongst the masses of video files will become a necessity.

Map Search

Google Maps are one of the best features of Google according to me!

These tools offer a brief view of street, city, and country. So if some want to find the location on the internet via Google map or Google Earth then it becomes easy.

Finding places has never been this easy. Not only it gives you directions to your destination, it even gives you recommendations like places to stay, eat, their rankings & so on.

What are some of the other benefits of Google?

Apart from these chief advantages, there are some other benefits of using Google as well:

  • Free
  • Easy to edit
  • Ideal for anyone, from a professional to a newbie
  • No software installation required
  • Integrated with Google apps

However, Google has a few drawbacks as well.

There are few services that Yahoo does better or Google doesn’t offer it.

How Yahoo is better than Google?

Personal Finance

Yahoo Finance contains a great wealth of original content that easily rivals some of the biggest financial sites in the game.

The interface is equally intuitive and accessible to both new investors and longtime financial experts.

But Google Finance is there, although it isn’t as efficient!

Website Backlink Info

For some reason, Google does not publicly disclose this backlink information but instead provides a small sample of quality incoming links to a given domain via it’s “link:” search operator.

Yahoo makes this especially easy with its “link domain:” search operator. It quickly provides a full list of incoming links to any given domain.

Local Search

This is a big one!

If you are looking for businesses around your town or city, Yahoo Local is a step ahead of Google.

While Google can perform local searches in a variety of different ways through their standard search interface and Google Maps application, Yahoo Local is a more polished service that puts all local search capabilities on one convenient page.

Privacy

This one is arguable. Some argue that Google has a better security system than Yahoo.

Some businessmen agree that communication with other companies or people for sensitive issues like strategies, monetization that often contains Google’s Adwords services.

Another popular competitor of Google is Bing!

Bing is undeniably still a key player in the search engine rivalry contest and it has many enviable features.

What does Bing do better than Google?

Image search

Bing was the first to introduce the ‘infinite scroll’ to evade the need to painfully click through the various pages of image results. Google has since caught onto this function so Bing no longer has the advantage here.

However, Bing does still maintains the advantage when it comes to filters. Unlike in Google, you can search for different image layouts – tall, wide or square. Google generally has most of the same filter options that Bing has, although you have to dig a little deeper to find them.

Rewards & Gifts

It is often said that Bing gives free kinds of stuff to their users.

As a loyalty card in your local cafe, Bing offers a similar reward scheme using a points system. Sure it’s not a technical reason to use Bing, but there’s nothing like a bit of bribery to win people over!

Bing Cashback

Another genius marketing way!

Microsoft organized partnerships with many online retailers to pay a fraction of the purchase price of items bought through Bing back to the consumer. It was a very nice move from Bing.

However, the program offers cash back rewards of up to 35% from certain stores and includes such marquee names as eBay, Newegg, Dell, Barnes and Noble, Footlocker, Gap, The Home Depot and other major retailers.

Anyway, clearly, there are great benefits as well as a few setbacks of Google.

But the popularity & command over its users is undeniable. If pitted against any search engine, it will surely come as the winner!

For any businesses, being present on Google’s page is one of the primary goals for their company!

How To Grow Local Business With GMB In 2020?

One of the first places that customers look for products online on Google.

It is reported that 46% of all searches have local intent with a business location that is mainly sought by local searchers.

This just shows you how much your business listing can benefit by appearing on Google search.

Let’s discuss how Google My Business or GMB can help to grow your business!

What is Google My Business?

A free local marketing tool, GMB basically manages the online presence & appearances of any business in Google Search & Google Maps.

It works as a listing on Google that shows your name, address, contact information, website link, and hours of operation.

How does Google My Business listing works?

The primary step is to either claim your page or add a new one & then verifying it.

With GMB, you will be able to create a simple website that will drive more customers to your business. It’s also essential that you optimize your GMB listing.

Now, in Google, the local listings dominate the results. So when users will search from products available in your business, within your locality, your page will pop up in sections like Google’s sidebar, local results, and Google maps.

Therefore, potential customers will be able to see your location, contacts, and other information from your page.

Why should you use GMB for Local Marketing?

There are lots of benefits of GMB:

Increased Visibility

One of the greatest benefits of GMB is that it can help you to get the maximum presence on the internet.

Today, 3 out of 4 shoppers search online when they want to find a business, and 7 out of 10 made a purchase from a business they found using a search engine.

An optimized GMB page will help Google understand more about your business & the more Google knows about you, the more types of searches your GMB listing can appear in.

You may even land on Google’s Three-pack.

Yes, the once inclusive 7-pack is now limited to only three local listings hence the title 3-pack.

To appear in this three-pack will help you to tap into potential revenue as Google not only shows customers your business on Google Maps, but it also places it before organic search results.

Helps you to know your target customers

GMB will allow sharing information about your business, including your address, contact information, and working hours.

Customers nowadays are more inclined towards specific information like specialists, offers, discounts. You can make your business stand out by sharing the latest photos, offers and other relevant information through your posts.

However, always ensure to have a “Call to Action” button so that customers can “Call” “Visit” or “Buy”.

Increase in Traffic & Sales

Having a prominent GMB listing can actually boost up your sales.

According to Google, by having a Google My Business listing, businesses are 70% more likely to attract local visits from browsing users.

You have to go through an enormous amount of verification steps just to make it to the listings on the GMB page. This creates a trust factor among the users, & thus helps in enhancing sales.

Customer Reviews helps in boosting your site

Nearly 90% of customers read online reviews to evaluate the quality of a local business, and most customers always choose the product with the highest reviews. Google My Business lets customers review your business and leave feedback.

Reviews are a way to build trust & confidence among customers. According to a survey by Moz’s on local search ranking factors, online reviews make up 10% of how search engines determine their rankings.

What are some of the ways to make your GMB special?

Select your post type –

Consider how you want to target your audience & what your business goals are.

You can share important announcements, for promotional purposes, your specials deals, discounts or even memories with your employees.

There are options to choose from like:

· Event Posts

· Product Posts

· What’s New Posts

· Offer Posts

Make your words count –

Generally, the size of Google My Business post is 300 words.

However, up to about 100 words is visible to your customers during the first impression. So choose your words wisely.

Understand what are your highlight points are for the post & try to keep them within those 100 words. You can even ensure the inclusion of the focus keywords & your SEO goals.

Write catchy headlines –

Headlines for any posts whatsoever is extremely important.

Today, customers have a very small attention span. So a unique headline will create more impact for your customers.

Don’t keep the headlines very long. Keep it short & to the point!

Use pictures & videos –

Good quality pictures can make your videos stand-out.

The minimum resolution of the photos should be 720px (width) X 540px (height). Also, keep in mind that the pictures should be well-lit & of course properly focused. It is better to preview your pictures & look for any last-minute editing necessary. Also, crowdy images with too many texts can make it look clumsy.

As for videos, it has always been a favorite for the online community. More than 60% of the customers are more likely to get influence by videos. Make your videos compact & to the point. Don’t drag them too long!

Call-to-action –

Adding CTAs to use your services while promoting your products, offers, deals, coupons can be very effective for GMB posts.

Instructions like “Buy Now”, “Book Online” or the recently added “Call Now” to boost ticket sales for events or activities.

Also, you can- promote contests and giveaways through your posts, Share coupon codes and unique instructions and restrictions on offers, Use key selling and popular products more extensively.

But keep in mind not to post too many deals in one single post.

This may confuse your customers & make you look inauthentic.

Keeping a personal touch makes posts very impactful. When you show your customers that you genuinely care about them, they are more likely to get inclined towards your business. GMB is the pioneer when it comes to empowering small businesses and enables them to connect with their customers directly.

GMB is remarkable in fulfilling your business goals if done properly.

Why Should You Move Your Website From Http To Https?

When you have a website, maintaining the security of the site as well as your users is one of the most crucial aspects.

A study shows that a lot of cyber attacks happen to small business organizations.

And due to this & many other reasons, most websites are moving towards HTTPS from HTTP.

But before starting about the advantages of the HTTPS-based website, lets clear our concepts.

What is HTTP?

HTTP or Hypertext Transfer Protocol is an application layer protocol that governs any information that can be transmitted on the World Wide Web. HTTP provides standard rules for web browsers & servers to communicate.

It uses structured text which establishes the logical link between nodes containing text. It is also known as “stateless protocol” as each command is executed separately, without using a reference of the previous run command.

What is HTTPS?

HTTPS stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure.

It allows secure transactions by encrypting the entire communication with SSL. It is a combination of SSL/TLS protocol and HTTP. It provides encrypted and secure identification of a network server.

Earlier, HTTPS used to be associated with sites that had sensitive information, but now more sites are making the switch rapidly!

What is an SSL Certificate?

It is a set of data that is to be added to your server to achieve an encrypted connection between a browser & a server.

When the site is SSL certified, it displays a green padlock indicating the site is secured.

What are the major differences between HTTP & HTTPS sites?

HTTP HTTPS
The address browser is http:// The address browser is https://
It is unsecured It is secured
Sends data over port 80 Uses port 443
operates at application layer operates at transport layer
No SSL certificates are required for HTTP HTTPS it is required that you have an SSL certificate
No encryption in HTTP HTTPS the data is encrypted before sending

What are the advantages of HTTPS?

Improved Google Ranking

If you look at the first page of Google, almost 40% of the sites are HTTPS.

This is not a surprise since Google has confirmed that they favor HTTPS sites.

Google wants to ensure the best user experience for their customers, so understandably they don’t want to send searchers to insecure sites

Security & Privacy

HTTPS sites are encrypted. Keeping everything safer and more secure is simply a better option for everyone.

Google adds criteria to the rankings algorithm when it has proven to provide a better user experience. HTTPS protects your users’ information and your information from hackers.

Keeping everything safer is obviously a better experience for everyone!

For HTTP, every request can potentially reveal a lot of information & behavior of any user.

Although a single visit may seem pretty harmless, some intruders look at the aggregate browsing activities of your users to make inferences about their behaviors and intentions.

Also, some Wifi operators use MitM techniques to inject ads or various other messages into the user’s unencrypted web traffic. HTTPS has the capacity to prevent this.

Your website will look for authoritative

Earlier, in one of our blogs, we had discussed how Google prefers sites that have more authoritative tones to it.

Well, most company has an HTTPS website. This is mostly because of the practical implications surrounding encrypting user data. It’s also because HTTPS comes off as more professional.

If you are still using a non-HTTPS website recently, you may have noticed next to the website’s address a note saying “not secure”.

Seeing something like “not secured” in your browser shatters consumer’s confidence.

Better SEO

Google deals with over 3 billion searches per day.

SEO is incredibly important for your online visibility. Google and other search engines put additional weight on HTTPS sites which is one of the largest advantages of HTTPS.

Updated browser labels

As a part of their push for a more secure web, Google updates its labeling for HTTP sites in Chrome’s URL bar.

HTTP sites are marked grey information symbol that tells the user the site is not secure if they click on it.

Google is marking Http sites with a red triangle with a “Not Secure” label written in red.

How to change your site from HTTP to HTTPS?

The steps are pretty simple & straightforward:

Step 1

Purchase an SSL certificate

Step 2

Install your SSL certificate on your website’s hosting account.

Step 3

Now, change all website links to HTTPS, so that they are not broker after you make the flip

Step 4

Set up 301 redirects from HTTP to HTTPS

However, due to the overwhelming responses offered by SSL certificate vendors and packages offered by hosting companies, this process can become very puzzling.

One thing is for sure if you want to change your site from HTTP to HTTPS, at some point you are bound to get confused. It is better to take professional help.

Robotics & Automation In Modern Healthcare

The idea of Robotics & Automation in Healthcare has been around for quite some time now.

Our lifestyle is rapidly changing. As a result, the need for medical units is also rapidly increasing. Most of the times the doctors are overworked or hospitals are understaffed.

According to a report published by the United States Census Bureau in 2016, a new demographic trend has emerged. By 2020, people over the age of 65 will outnumber children under 5.

Robotics can benefit healthcare a lot. The healthcare industry must find the resources to adapt to this new demographic trend.

What is Robotics & Automation in Healthcare?

There is a misconception in the market that robotics is going to replace medical staff.

However, most experts on AI believe that robotics will increase the efficiency of the medical staff & not replace them.

Robots in medicine help by relieving medical personnel from routine tasks that take their time away from more pressing responsibilities and by making medical procedures safer and less costly for patients.

There are robots now, working in the medical industry who monitors patient’s vital statistics, alert nurses when there is a need for human presence in the situation, for instance.

There are robots who assist nurses with providing supplies, assisting doctors in surgery & what not!

What are the ways automation & robotics are helping in the healthcare sector?

Look, the major goal of any automation in any industry for that matter is to make the job less stressful & amplify productivity.

Improving the accuracy

Robots don’t need sleep. So, they are not sleep-deprived, so there is far less chance of having a slip of attention.

Known as “Waldo surgeons”, these can bridge the gap between humans and machines and perform tasks with excellent precision, increased strength and no tremors of the knife.

There are micro-robots, who can deploy drugs precisely & even perform micro-surgeries like unclogging blood vessels!

Supporting mental health & daily tasks

AI can literally help a lot for mental health care. There are service robots that can support lonely people. There are companion & conversational robots that help people to stay positive, remind them to take their medicine and perform simple routine check-ups like temperature, blood pressure, and sugar levels.

We have a whole blog on how technology & AI is helping mental health, you can definitely check that out at the end of the blog!

Moreover, if back-office, routine tasks are passed on to software robots, this would, in other words, allow doctors to use their human skills in order to better address their patients’ needs instead of filling in consistently names, dates, and addresses.

Precise diagnosis

One of the major benefits of AI in the health sector is the ability of AI to detect patterns that will easily describe a condition by studying data records.

The machine can scan thousands of cases and look for correlations between hundreds of variables, some of which are not even listed in current medical works.

An endoscopic system in Japan can detect colon cancer & in 86% accurate!

In addition, the IBM Watson has already hit the 99% mark in cancer diagnosis.

Remote Treatment

The U.S. Department of Defense, funded research at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh to create an autonomous robotic trauma care system for treating soldiers injured in remote locations.

Could you imagine this 10 years back?

In the early days, it was impossible to offer the necessary treatment to the soldiers on the battlefields. Now, it is possible for robots to treat soldiers or even patients in rural or remote areas.

Another, type of remote healthcare robot is a simple bot-pill that performs an endoscopy in a much more comfortable way. It is a “magic pill” that travels throughout your intestine & you can eliminate them naturally as well.

Auxiliary Robots

There is much work in a hospital, that nurses & hospital personnel can benefit from the help of robots. The Moxi robot by Diligent Robotics takes care of restocking, bringing items and cleaning so that nurses can spend more time with patients. Also, they offer a human touch while leaving the grinding to the machine.

Billing & Claims

A recent HIMSS Analytics survey found that 31% of healthcare providers still use a manual process to manage claim denials.

Although there is a technology with some codified billing systems, it is still majorly done by humans. This may often result in human errors.

Automation helps reduce human error and ensures that each claim includes the information it needs to move forward, helping providers get paid in a timely manner.

What are some of the top Robotics Automation Startups in Healthcare?

EnterBridge

Managing insurance claims are usually filled with errors and can quickly become time-consuming.

EnterBridge, a company from the USA focuses on achieving optimal automation levels for filling insurance data, automating and speeding up enrolment and processing claims, thereby optimizing time spent by payers and providers.

T-impact

This RAS by a British start-up is used in hospital management to optimize administrative processes, revenue cycle management, time for transportation of blood or organs, disinfecting areas for patients, synchronizing schedules for surgeries and other medical procedures.

CloudMedx

This RAS is specialized in optimal care delivery including, s analyzing medical records, extracting data in using keywords, detecting structured and unstructured data and comparing them with historical health records.

Computing System Innovation

Again an American startup company used for medical data structuring.

This uses an automated classification system for organizing registration data and maintain patient records. It is equipped with a simple point-and-click system for finding clinical or healthcare data that helps professionals to make an informative decision.

Moving forward it is estimated that automated systems will have a mainstream effect on the best digital marketing agency for healthcare industry.

Nowadays, most of the experts are focusing on building more humanized robots with a technology called humanoid for personal care, socialization and for training. The industry is growing wide & far.

Why Choose A Dedicated Server For Your Website?

With the number of businesses increasing in the market, the importance of a dedicated server (DS) is also growing.

And frankly, dedicated servers have their added advantages. If someone is looking for a hosting solution to suit your unique needs, there’s a good chance a DS could be the solution for you.

Now, before talking about advantages & disadvantages, let’s understand what is a dedicated server.

What are the dedicated servers?

A DS is a type of remote server that is entirely dedicated to an individual, organization or application. It is deployed, hosted and managed by a hosting, cloud or managed service provider (MSP).

This kind of server actually provides functionality like an in-house server, however, it is actually owned, operated & managed by a backend provider.

In a dedicated server, the client company may use a single system or have a choice of several systems.

Virtual Hosting

Some companies allow renters of a dedicated server to use virtual hosting.

Virtual hosting is the provision of Web server hosting services so that a company doesn’t have to purchase and maintain its own Web server and connections to the Internet.

It is often called “space providers”.

What are the different types of dedicated servers?

Here are some of the different types of dedicated servers as per client’s requirement:

  • Basic Dedicated Server: this scenario occurs when a client has outgrown from a shared or VPS hosting account. He requires a DS with his basic requirements. In this case, the client does not require much RAM, Hard Disk and basic Operating System installed on the dedicated server. The main work of the server here is to improve website response time.
  • High-end Dedicated Server: This type of server is used by clients who are expecting a good performance of the server & understood that his requirements are on a rise.
  • Bandwidth Dedicated Server: This is usually required by clients who want to run live Audio/Video streaming websites, like Youtube. He needs high-specs server configuration to do high data transfer, downloads or uploads as fast as possible.
  • Application Dedicated Server: This one is used to host Applications are known as Application Dedicated Web Servers.
  • Database Dedicated Server: The businesses that run Databases such as MySQL or MS SQL on a DS are known as Database Dedicated Server Hosting.
  • Server Mirroring Dedicated Server: Some clients require their data to be mirrored to another server as they refuse to lose any data at any point in time.

Here servers are synchronized in order to transfer data from one server to the other.

What are the advantages of a dedicated server?

There are a number of reasons to use a DS. Some of the basic benefits of dedicated servers are:

  • High volumes of traffic:

It is best to use a DS if you expect a high traffic volume for your website.

  • Better Performance

Dedicated Server hosting makes even your most processor-intensive workloads fly because all the processing power is yours and yours alone. This will, in turn, give you better a robust performance of the server.

  • Reliability

Having the total resources and capabilities of the server to serve the needs of a single website. Also, without anybody having to share these resources with greatly reduces, if not eliminates, the risk of the server being congested, slowed down and swamped with requests from other websites or applications.

  • Credit card processing

With a proper dedicated hosting & a unique IP address, you can easily run an e-commerce site that requires SSL for credit card processing.

  • Private Networking:

You can easily connect your personal server to your cloud through private networking features.  With an easy implementation, you increase your connectivity internally without being connected to external networks or even the Internet.

  • Flexibility

There are no obligations when you want to customize the server configuration according to the website’s needs. You can easily do it without affecting others.

  • Dedicated Servers Offer Greater Access Control

The user is given Administrative or “Root Access” to the server. This level of access gives you greater control over the hardware and software on the device and would not be possible if resources or data on the server were being shared by different users.

  • Security

Dedicated servers protect from increasingly common DDoS attacks, anti-spamming solutions to fight off spammers. Also, it offers minimal information leakage and maximum security.

What are the disadvantages of a dedicated server?

Of course, there are some drawbacks of using a dedicated server:

  • Dedicated servers increase the cost. The clients have to pay heavy fees.
  • The server is the property of the service provider, which means all you own is the data you put on the server.
  • You do not have physical access to the server.
  • Dedicated hosting is not recommended for small-sized businesses, for websites that do not expect a heavy traffic volume.
  • Clients need to have, at least, basic technical know-how in server administration and management to make his server work efficiently.

What are the uses of a dedicated server?

  • Dedicated Servers for Websites

People use dedicated servers to host their website & files need to keep their website up & running.

  • Dedicated Servers for Email

With a dedicated email server, owners can keep close communication while attaching files & providing employees with their own company email address.

  • Dedicated Servers for Gaming

Benefits Of Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is has been around the market for a long time now.

It definitely has some major benefits but still, there are some businesses that are doing without it.

According to a study by the International Data Group, 69% of businesses are already using cloud technology in one capacity or another.

The problem is, many people are ignorant of the capacity of cloud computing or maybe are using without actually understanding the concept fully. Dell reports that companies that invest in big data, cloud, mobility, and security enjoy up to 53% faster revenue growth than their competitors.

Let me tell you, the world is moving fast & faster towards the cloud-computing trend.

Today, we are going to talk all about Cloud Computing!

What is Cloud Computing?

In simple words, it is the delivery of different services through the internet. These include typical computing services like servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence, etc.

So, rather than keeping files on a hard drive or local storage drive, the internet or “cloud” based storage makes it possible to save them in a remote database.

If you look at it, a simple email or keeping documents in your Google Drive is cloud computing!

Companies that provide cloud services enable users to store files and applications on remote servers and then access all the data via the Internet.

This means that the user is not at all required to be present at a specific time & place to access the data, he can do it wherever & whenever he can.

Two different variations…

Cloud computing can be public & private.

Public cloud services provide their services over the Internet for a fee. Like Google Drive for example, or Microsoft OneDrive.

However, there are companies who design their personal cloud space or private cloud services, only accessed by a certain number of people. Like Dell or Oracle.

There is also a hybrid option, which combines elements of both the public and private services.

What are the types of cloud computing?

Cloud computing isn’t a single piece of technology. Widely, it has three types:

  • SaaS or Software-as-a-service- It basically involves licensure of a software application to customers. They are more of a pay as you go, model, used in Microsoft Office’s 365.
  • IaaS or Infrastructure-as-a-service- A little more complex than Saas, it involves a method for delivering everything from operating systems to servers and storage through IP-based connectivity as part of an on-demand service. The IBM Cloud and Microsoft Azure have IaaS cloud services.
  • PaaS or Platform-as-a-service– The most complex of the three, this one is actually a platform for creating software that is delivered via the Internet. PaaS also has a few similarities with SaaS. It is included in Force.com and Heroku.

What are the benefits of using cloud computing?

With the growing number of web-enabled devices today, it is only smart that you keep your data on the web.

Some of the major advantages of cloud computing are:

Scalability

Businesses can be risky.

You need a system where it can quickly adapt to suit your situation.

Rather than purchasing and installing expensive upgrades yourself, your cloud computer service provider can simply do the job much faster & is much more flexible. Scalability increases efficiency & flexibility & cloud computing will save a lot of time when you are running a business.

Security

Well, it is a legitimate concern now that with all the hacking & data theft that is going on.

If you can remotely access your data, then what’s stopping a cybercriminal from doing the same thing? Right?

Well, it can be secured.

Well, a cloud host’s full-time job is to carefully monitor security, which is suggestively more effectual than a conventional in-house system. There an organization must divide its efforts between a myriad of IT concerns, with security being only one of them.

RapidScale claims that 94% of businesses saw an improvement in security after switching to the cloud. This shows that encrypted data can be transferred easily over network systems!

Increased Collaboration

The traditional methods of communication or data transfer can cause a lot of collaboration issues.

Say, if you are working on a project with six different people from five different locations. How difficult would it get to access files?

With cloud computing, team members can view and share information easily and securely across a cloud-based platform.

Of course, collaboration is possible without a cloud-computing solution, but it will never be as easy, nor as effective.

Quality Control

In a cloud-based system, all documents are stored in one place and in a single format.

With all the people who are accessing the same data, you are able to maintain a certain level of consistency, avoid human error, have a clear record of the updates or revisions which automatically improves the quality of your work.

Say, for instance, you have storage where you keep all the encrypted data of your web designs. In any given moment you can access the data & maintain a consistent level of your aesthetics.

Improved Flexibility

The cloud offers businesses more flexibility overall versus hosting on a local server.

Like if you are on a work tour & you need data on-the-go. You can access everything provided you have an internet connection.

You can literally set-up a virtual office anywhere, in an emergency situation!

Automated Updates

Cloud-based applications automatically refresh and update themselves, instead of forcing an IT department to perform a manual organization-wide update.

For people who have a lot on their plate & hate to get the updates installed in their systems, cloud computing can be a savior.

Depending on what you use, your cloud system will get meticulously updated with the latest technology!

We can go on & on about the goodness of cloud computing but I think now you have a fair share of an idea what a benefit it can bring to your business.

However, being in the industry, it is best to use a personal cloud computing system. It would be fully secured, packed with all the necessary features that you would be needing, based on your business.

Of course, if you are looking to build a personal cloud computing system, it is better to hire a professional.

How Technology Can Solve Mental Health Issues?

Mental health is a serious, serious topic in the world right now. Affecting millions of people around the globe, the rate of depression & anxiety is growing at an alarming rate!

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one out of every 20 people is battling depression, which means around 350 million people worldwide. And another 260 million struggling with anxiety.

By 2030, combating depression will become the world’s largest medical burden, the WHO said.

So can you understand the depths of mental illness in our digital world?

Also, it is a known fact that people in urban civilization deals with mental health a lot more frequently than those residing in the countryside or rural areas!

Then why aren’t more people taking it seriously?

Well, there can be a few reasons for that.

First, mental health has a certain amount of stigma attached to it. People are quick to use phrases like “oh you are just sad” or “Chill out! It is just a phase.”

Things like these can affect the victim of depression, bipolar or PTSD or any mental illness for that matter.

Second, comes the cost. The cost of treating illnesses like PTSD or depression can be extremely high. A single session with a psychiatrist can cost a couple of hundred dollars. And unlike a few other physical illnesses, mental illness is not something you solve with some medicines or tests.

It takes time & patience.

Moreover, people dealing with illness like severe schizophrenia, or say bipolar disorder has a high risk of losing their working ability which makes it even more difficult to continue with the treatment.

Third is the time management.

As I mentioned earlier, these kinds of treatments require patience. And people in the metro cities are so caught up with their lifestyle that it is simply impossible to invest time towards their mental health.

Suppose, you are in a meeting at the office & suddenly you feel a panic attack. Where do you find a specialist at that moment? Like, right there when you need the most?

Well, however contradictory it may sound, but technology is, in fact, doing some major innovations to help people coping with mental disorders.

How you may ask?

Apps to cope with mental illness

Well, it’s true that there are far fewer apps for mental health as compared to physical health apps.

But there are quite an impressive number of apps targeted at users with specific conditions like anxiety, schizophrenia, or depression, and are designed to assuage and manage symptoms, track moods and thoughts, or help individuals stick with treatments.

There are apps aimed at improving memory, coping, and thinking skills, or managing stress through meditation or mindfulness.

But you need to be careful while using these apps. It is best to consult a doctor before downloading an app. Read the reviews.

The most trustworthy are typically affiliated with academic research institutions or government agencies, according to the American Psychological Association.

Finding supports through Internet-based support groups

Social media has a big influence in this regard.

People are able to find community not only for addictions or cancer support, but there are also support groups for battling depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD & whatnot.

Soldiers often find hard to deal with civil life because most of them are dealing with PTSD. There are support groups solely for them to help them cope with life.

Even, Sun noted that the site offers Talkabouts, which allow users to communicate with one another, as well as “educational resources and courses led by mental-health professionals.”

It is really helpful when you know that other people are going through the same struggles as yours!

Behavioral trackers

Imagine a situation.

You are in the middle of your promotion party. You are enjoying it, drinking, dancing, having a great time.

Suddenly you get a gut-wrenching feeling in your stomach, feel sick & know you are going to have an anxiety attack.

But you can’t just leave the whole party. Now you are stuck in this painful situation!

It can be bad. But now there are trackers to indicate mood swings or anxiety even before they manifest.

Researchers are also working to harness mobile technology to detect suicidal inclinations, burgeoning manic episodes, or depressive episodes.

One-on-one online therapy

Pretty easy & convenient for people who have a busy life & cannot make out time for themselves.

Some services or platforms allow users to connect with therapists via voice or video on a computer or phone.

Also, there is often a shortage of mental health professionals in some areas or the cost is very high. There are text-based services that allow patients to chat 24/7 with a minimum monthly fee.

Virtual Reality Treatments

There is a new therapy developed recently for treating PTSD patients.

It is the exposure therapy designed to help patients relive trauma-related phenomena in a controlled, safe environment, such as a doctor’s office.

This helps patients get habituated to the memories so they no longer trigger flashbacks and anxiety.

Even a Yale scientist is using video games & VR to treat people with borderline personality disorder, which is a condition where people suffer from social rejection, have a distorted sense of self, and are prone to extreme mood swings.

Software to find at-risk patients

Some insurance companies are using cloud-based software platforms to review electronic medical records to identify patients having a risk of developing mental illnesses.

Then, they can connect them with specialist treatments through a network of behavioral health specialists.

Do you know that recently Google has teamed up with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), to offer a mental health screening questionnaire to U.S. residents who search for the term “depression” on their mobile phones?

There is an option “Check if you’re clinically depressed” where to can take confidential, medically approved assessment test.
